Tips For De-stressing While You’re Pursuing Work

In Evan Almighty, God said, “Let me ask you something, if someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? Oh, that God, he’s so smart… So how do you manage to remain patient when you’re stressing out?

Having that kind of faith can be very powerful in helping you achieve patience (click to tweet http://ctt.ec/0199p)

Tip 1: Develop a consistent philosophy about your career.  For example you’re going to take your career one day at a time and consider each task you do, a step in the right direction, getting you one step closer to your dreams.

Tip 2: Accept what you can’t control. If your career goals are do-able recognize that you’re going to need time, effort, and energy to see them to fruition. When thoughts pop up that frighten you, like you’re running out of time, or you’re getting too old, remember time and aging are not something you can control, every day is an extra 24 hours added to your life and with it, you get the learning and growth of each day which in this universal divine plan is exactly what you need.

Perhaps you need to challenge your perspective on the past, present, and future. Instead of dwelling on your past mistakes and failings, focus on your next step. Don’t worry about what you will become or how you will act in the future.  Begin to live each new day as a fresh start. Being patient does not mean being stagnant. Handle your goals by breaking them into manageable tasks and objectives that are more realistically attainable in the immediate future.

Tip 3: Confront your fears about attaining your goal. Remember, movies aren’t created in a day.  Beautiful symphonies, works of art, and literary masterpieces were not created in a day.  A lifetime is not lived in a day.

I understand that having faith in a divine universal plan may be a stretch for you. Accepting that everything happens for a reason may seem a bit woo woo for a rational style thinker, but if the alternative is to be rational and get completely stressed out because of impatience, I say try woo woo for a while, because it’s comforting to believe that each day is as it’s meant to be and with patience everything you’re meant to have will come to fruition.
